  • Norwalk Fourth of July Parade

We had a great group supporting Sinikka Waugh for Iowa Senate and Rory Taylor for Iowa House

Want to help us build on this momentum? The Fourth of July parade was just the start. We need volunteers for upcoming events, canvassing, phone banking, yard sign distribution, and more as we head toward 2026.

No experience necessary, just a willingness to show up. Whether you have an hour a month or want to get more involved, there’s a role for you.

    To get involved, email norwalkareademocrats@gmail.com

  • A New Digital Home for Progress in Norwalk

Welcome! If you’ve been following the news lately—or just looking at your bills—you know that Norwalk and Iowa are at a crossroads. Between the conversations surrounding the new data center project and the upcoming 2026 elections, there has never been a more critical time for us to organize.

We’re building this site to be a resource for you, but while the developers are “under the hood,” we didn’t want to wait to start the conversation.

Why We’re Here: Iowa is seeing a massive surge of civic energy. From the “No Kings” rallies that recently swept through Norwalk, Indianola and Des Moines to the push for better healthcare and water quality, people are tired of being told to “sit back and wait.”

In Norwalk, we are focused on:

    • Transparency: You shouldn’t need a law degree to understand how a new development might impact your water bill.
    • Leadership: Supporting Democratic candidates and local leaders who prioritize people over special interests.
    • Community: Making sure that as Norwalk grows, we don’t lose the “small-town” sense of look-out-for-each-other that brought us here in the first place.

Get Involved Right Now The 2026 cycle is already in full swing. We are looking for folks to help with everything from social media and photography to neighborhood canvassing. You don’t need to be a political expert; you just need to care about what happens in your community.

What’s Next? Keep an eye on this space. We’ll be posting updates on City Council meetings, candidate profiles, and ways you can help us flip seats in 2026.

In the meantime, sign up on our Facebook page to stay informed of upcoming events.

    Onward!
